I was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, with a growing love of computers and audiovisual arts that led me to the Informatics and Mass Media Dpt. of the Technical Educational Institute of Western Greece (Patras).
I hold two Master’s degrees in (1)Computer Engineering and Informatics (Computer Hardware & Architecture) and (2)Educational Sciences (Teaching Processes, Educational Programs and ICT).
During my academic studies I have conducted research in the fields of Cyber Security and Data Privacy, as well as Data Mining and Learning Analytics and Virtual Reality and my current (7/2023) h-index is 2. The research topic of my bachelor’s thesis was on the “Digital Signal Processing to study the effects of video games to human brain”. My masters’ thesis were on “General data protection regulation vulnerabilities and privacy issues, for wearable devices and fitness tracking applications” and “Developing an immersive virtual reality learning environment on the introduction of Large Scale Power Generation Systems”.
Fortunately, I had the opportunity to work as a designer, a developer and an educator as well. I have worked for more than 8 years as a Visual Designer and a UI / UX Artist for a number of companies and organizations such as: the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of the ATEI of Western Greece (MOKE), University of Patras, IEEE and the NGO “The Smile of the Child” (Hamogelo Tou Paidiou), but I have never lost my enthusiasm for Web, as well as Game Development. I have been the co-founder and Art Director of “eNVy softworks”, a game development company based in Greece in 2017 and in 2020 I founded my own Creative Studio, Vongrid aiming to develop inclusive and accessible interactive applications and games.
Currently I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Peloponnese on the topic of “Digital educational games, gamification techniques and learning analytics in formal and non-formal education“, and work as the Head of Engineering and Informatics (Patras Department) at the Institute of Vocational Training (IEK) Delta, teaching courses on the field of «Game & Web Development».
